Frieze London: Terre Protégée: A group exhibition around eco-feminism

At Frieze London 2025, Richard Saltoun Gallery will present Terre Protégée (Protected Earth). Centred around the concept of ecofeminism, the exhibition takes its inspiration from the work of Gina Pane, a pioneering figure in Body Art and Ecology. Terre Protégée is a cross-generational survey bringing together works by nine artists from seven countries:  

Simryn GILL (b. 1959, Singapore), Barbara LEVITTOUX-ŚWIDERSKA (b. 1933 – d. 2019, Poland), Jennifer BINNIE (b. 1958, UK), Reena Saini KALLAT (b. 1973, India), Greta SCHÖDL (b. 1929, Austria, based in Italy), Gina PANE (b. Italy, 1939-1990), Gaia FUGAZZA (b. Italy, 1985), Marisa Merz (b, Italy, 1926 - 2019) and Ria VERHAEGHE (b. 1950, Belgium). 

These artists challenge and expand the discourse on ecological and feminist concerns in contemporary art. All have received comprehensive institutional recognition in recent years. Simryn Gill and Jennifer Binnie were both featured in the group exhibition RE/SISTERS at the Barbican Centre, London (2023/24). Binnie was also included in Women in Revolt! at Tate Britain, London (2022) and has an upcoming solo exhibition at Richard Saltoun Gallery London in January 2025. Greta Schödl’s work is currently on view at this year’s Venice Biennale.

Simryn Gill and Reena Saini Kallat have concurrent exhibitions on view at Richard Saltoun Gallery London and Rome respectively.
