artgenève: Focus on Véronique Filozof | B9

29 January - 2 February 2025

For artgenéve 2025, Richard Saltoun Gallery presents a solo presentation (Booth B9) dedicated to Swiss-French artist Véronique FILOZOF.

Filozof was a Basel-born, French painter, illustrator, and graphic artist whose practice merged folk traditions with modernist sensibilities. Born in Basel, Switzerland, she relocated to France in 1923 and played a significant role in the French Resistance during World War II. After the war, she developed a distinctive visual language through intricate India ink drawings, vibrant gouache paintings, and collaborative tapestry projects with the Aubusson workshops. Her works, often centered on themes of rural life and social commentary, have been exhibited internationally and are held in major public collections, including the Kunstmuseum Basel and the Musée International d’Art Naïf in Nice.

Additional works will be on view by:

Malihen AFNAN, BAYA, Romany EVELEIGHReena SAINI KALLAT, Marie LAURENCIN, Huda LUTFI, Francis PICABIA, Juliana SERAPHIM and Ria VERHAEGHE.
