'In Tits and Bums and The Model’s Revenge, we return again to patriarchal gender dynamics: the anonymous naked woman posing for an artwork by the – presumably male – artist whose name will end up attached to the work. In San Francisco in 1974, Hunter made a series of black and white photographs also called The Model's Revenge in which the phallic gun is seen raised to shoot between the models breasts, clasped against her crotch, and nestled on the pillow in place of a lover’s head. Here, in an animation-style drawing, the model does what she can’t in a photograph – pulls the trigger and fires, taking back control of her own image.' - Hettie Judah
