According to the book by Giza Rsheim entitled "Animism, Magic, and the Divine King,' the love of Zeus and Semeleand his descent to her in his real shape of Thunder and Lightening, mean the following. The place where Father Zeus 'descends' on mortal woman is taboo.The thunderstorm is the bridal of the earth represented by Semele. This is symbolized by the thunder axehaftged into an obelisk.
