Ria Verhaeghe

Ria Verhaeghe's solo exhibition Panta Rhei, Spiegelrei at Be-part in Waregem will feature photographs, sculptures and works on paper by the Belgian artist that incorporate her pivotal Provisoria series. 

 

Panta Rhei refers to a quote from Heraclitus: Everything around us changes like the image of water, nothing stays the same. Panta Rhei therefore also represents a message of hope: since everything is constantly changing, we can turn the negative into positive.

 

The Provisoria are a collection of some 60,000 cataloged newspaper photographs that Ria began to compile more than thirty years ago, which now forms the core her visual work. 

 

The exhibition will be open 25 February - 30 April 2023.
