Red prayer sculpture, 2014
Works from Ria Verhaeghe's Glende and Prayer Sculpture series will be exhibited at TAGELDIMDE / MIDDLEGATE at the Cultuurcentrum de Werft in Geel, Belgium.
Exhibited in our booth at Art Brussels earlier this year, Verhaeghe's Prayer Sculptures, gilded newspapers moulded with latex to create cords, as though prayer ropes reflect her initial training and professional background as a nurse with the latex and emphasis on the human body.
The exhibition runs 17 September - 17 December 2023.
