Renate Bertlmann is featured in the exhibition FLOWERS! from the 30 April-25 September 2022 at Museum Ostwall.
The exhibition presents work from the 20th and 21st centuries that focus on flowers and make use of a wide variety of media, such as painting, photography, video and installation. The exhibition illustrates the development of flower representations from classical modernism to contemporary art and reflects the artistic and medial transformation processes.
Based on the collection of the Museum Ostwall, 180 works by almost 50 artists such as Max Beckmann, David Hockney, Hannah Höch, Martha Rosler, and Andy Warhol will be shown.
