Hong Kong born Rosa Lee revolutionised the UK’s abstract painting conventions in the 80s and 90s. Mixing Western and Asian influences, she created a new type of decorative abstraction that dismantled the hierarchy of fine art over craft. In doing so, she raised questions about the validity of painting and reclaimed the position of women within it.
Haptic Vision is a major exhibition of works by Rosa Lee and fellow painter and friend Jo Bruton. It is the first time in over 10 years that Lee’s paintings are exhibited in London.
