"Although I saw Guy often at events during the 1970’s I didn’t really get to know him until the 1980s when he regularly came to see my performances and we started to have conversations. I enjoyed those conversations for over forty years and their absence is one of the things that I will most miss now that Guy is no longer with us. The intellectual friendship and the joy that we encountered as we worked (and talked) together, Guy’s succinct observations and the quiet pace of his thinking was something I learned to savour. He was also tremendous fun to be with."

"My archive is full of postcards from Guy written in his distinctive spidery hand sharing some quotes or something he’d read recently or something he’d seen or even just the image on the postcard itself being like a talisman giving me a sense of what he was thinking about at the time.
Guy’s many collaborations with artists come shining through his writings and in his superb exhibitions he revealed to me the amazing work of artists including Lygia Clark, Dom Sylvester Houédard, Li Yuan-chia and Georges Vantongerloo."
